ABOUT US
Blue Ridge Immigration Law Center is staffed by Donna L Lipinski, an immigration lawyer with over twenty years experience in the practice of immigration law. Ms. Lipinski is a member of the **American Immigration Lawyers Association (“AILA”) www.aila.org, a national organization of over 11,000 immigration lawyers and law professors who practice and teach immigration law. Ms. Lipinski speaks Spanish and has helped countless families stay together and has assisted numerous businesses in meeting their staffing needs.
Ms. Lipinski was the CEO of Lipinski & Associates, P.C. based in Colorado for many years until November 2006 when she accepted a position as the Associate Director of Advocacy with the American Immigration Lawyers Association on Due Process and Family Issues. In that capacity, she worked with national coalition groups and members on the Hill to lobby for sensible, reasonable, fair and orderly immigration reform.
Ms. Lipinski earned her JD from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California and her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. Ms. Lipinski served as a faculty member at numerous immigration law conferences sponsored by AILA; co-authored numerous articles on H-2A agricultural and H-2B temporary, nonagricultural visas; served as a Director for 6 years on the AILA Board of Governors; and as Chair of the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Ms. Lipinski also served the Chamber of the Americas as the Immigration/Labor Task Force Chair.
Ms. Lipinski received the 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award from the AILA Colorado Chapter for her “endless advocacy and constant dedication to the cause of immigrant rights.” In 2004, she was awarded the Annual AILA Advocacy Award; and in 2001, she was honored with the AILA President’s Award for her ‘Dedication, Devotion and Perseverance as Essential Worker Committee Co-Chair”.
Ms. Lipinski’s practice is limited to immigration law, which is governed by federal, not state law. To practice federal immigration law, a lawyer needs to be licensed to practice law and be a member in good standing in the state bar in which they are licensed. Ms. Lipinski is licensed to practice law in Colorado and California.
